چکیده
Abstract. Using 14 years (2007–2020) of data from passive (MODIS/Aqua) and active (CALIOP/CALIPSO) satellite measurements over China, we investigate (1) the temporal spatial variation aerosol properties Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei (BTH) region, Yangtze River Delta (YRD), Pearl (PRD) (2) vertical distribution types extinction coefficients for different optical depth (AOD) meteorological conditions. The results show patterns seasonal variations AOD three regions. Annual time series reveal occurrence maxima in 2011 YRD 2012 BTH PRD; thereafter decreases steadily. CALIOP feature mask, relative frequency (rFO) each type atmospheric column is analyzed: rFOs dust polluted decrease north to south; clean ocean, continental, continental elevated smoke increase south. In vertical, peak (FO) depends on region season varies with general, distinct altitude ranges are observed FO at surface (clean marine aerosol), ∼1 km (polluted aerosol) ∼3 (elevated whereas may occur whole range considered this study (from up 8 km). designation height some extent reflect classification approach. Air mass trajectories indicate source regions areas area. nighttime profiles used. comparison daytime shows substantial differences altitude, which suggest effects boundary layer dynamics transport types, although due day–night performance cannot be ruled out.

Aerosol Optical Depth Spatial and Temporal Variability Using Satellite Data Over Indian Major Cities
Introduction: The study’s main aim is to investigate the long-term variation of Aerosol Optical Depth (AOD). It also aims to show the relationship between meteorological parameters. This study evaluates long-term (2010 to 2021) special and temporal changes over major Indian regions using satellite-based data from NASA’s Terra Satellite. Materials and Methods: This study was carried out during ...
متن کاملMulti-Scale Observations of Atmosphere Environment and Aerosol Properties over North China during APEC Meeting Periods
This paper reveals a study on air pollution process over North China, applying remote sensing technology, using satellite observation and in situ measurements during the twenty-first Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meeting, which was held in Beijing between 6 and 12 November when the clear weather was called “APEC-Blue”. In the meantime, pollutants concentrations including PM2.5 and PM...
متن کاملDust-wind interactions can intensify aerosol pollution over eastern China
Eastern China has experienced severe and persistent winter haze episodes in recent years due to intensification of aerosol pollution. In addition to anthropogenic emissions, the winter aerosol pollution over eastern China is associated with unusual meteorological conditions, including weaker wind speeds. Here we show, based on model simulations, that during years with decreased wind speed, larg...
متن کاملSpatial variation of aerosol properties over Europe derived from satellite observations and comparison with model calculations
Aerosol optical depths (AOD) and Angström coefficients over Europe were retrieved using data from the ATSR-2 radiometer on board the ESA satellite ERS-2, for August 1997. Taking advantage of the nadir and forward view of the ATSR-2, the dual view algorithm was used over land to eliminate the influence of the surface reflection. Over sea the AOD was retrieved using only the forward observations....
